Koh Tao has no airport; reaching it means travelling by ferry to Mae Haad on the west coast. Lomprayah Koh Tao Pier is 1.7 km from the resort, and pickup-truck taxis are a practical transfer from the pier; scooters are also available to rent locally. Mae Haad and Sairee connect along a flat brick shore path, about a 15-minute walk, although a taxi saves carrying bags. Crossings link Koh Tao with Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Chumphon; the sea can be rough and services may be cancelled from November to January. Free public parking is available on site, with no reservation possible.

For time by the water, the west and south coasts are generally calmer from November to March, while the east coast tends to offer calmer conditions from April to October. Diving is the island's main draw, with sites such as Chumphon Pinnacle, Southwest Pinnacle, Sail Rock and White Rock; whale sharks are seen most often in March–May and September–October. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) is 950 m from the resort, Top of the rock is 1.4 km away, and Nangyuan Island lies 3 km away. The island's sunset outlooks face Koh Nang Yuan, reachable by long-tail boat from Sairee or Mae Haad.
